MOODY BLUES | RITU KUMAR
Hi all you lovely fashionistas! Today’s post is about my collaboration with a brand that needs no introduction! It is none other than Label by Ritu Kumar!
Ritu Kumar designs focus on natural fabrics and traditional printing and weaving techniques. She also infuses her work with Western elements, but her creations have been largely traditional. Ritu Kumar also has a very chic, versatile, and beautiful Pret (ready-to-wear) line.

From the whole Fall/Winter collection, I chose my favourite 3 pieces, very differently put together, and very me. Each piece was so easily styled to my liking. Hope you like all the looks equally, lots of effort was put into this special post!!
LOOK 1- I worked with a contrasting palette, hues of blue, grey, white, black, and some blue-on-blue ombre. The first look has to be my personal favourite, I love the boxer jacket’s Western style, complementing the Indian sequined 3D illusion work on the jacket. It has the signature Indian motifs that Ritu Kumar uses on most of her Indo-Western silhouettes. I paired this simply dressy boxer jacket with some white trousers, which fit me like a dream. You can’t really think of any colours of pants to wear this jacket with because it already has so much going on, but you can always do white or black, and never go wrong. Chunky white sandals keep it simple and work like they were made for this outfit!
LOOK 2- I wore this well-fitted long maxi dress, which was a mix of all shades of blue and grey. What caught my eye when I was selecting this dress was the insanely cool print emerging from the bottom of the dress, in a loud shade of blue. I found the dress so simple, yet interesting, easy to accessorise, easy to dress-up and maybe change it to a night look also. It’s extremely versatile and I’m sure that’s why I picked this outfit. Minimalism is what this look is all about, just some silver, bold chunky earrings, as well as this stunning ring I got from a tiny store in Cappadocia, Turkey. Also it has this BOLD and beautiful signature to it- I felt like a beautiful blue flamingo in this dress!! Not to miss the chunky silver ankle booties to complement the dress and silver accessories, Thats one statement i felt i should have when i tried this outfit. The silver booties are actually a gift from a friend in Australia- I shall find out the name of the store and post the link below, in the comments section.
LOOK 3- NOW about the last look I shot! Well, this look screams out fun and comfortable. You can style this knee-length dress any which way and manage to look like a superstar. It’s easy and I feel you could even wear this to a luncheon meeting with your office colleagues or even to an office meeting. I styled this look as a casual comfortable go-to look. I love how this shirt dress has such dramatic Bishop sleeves that you can adjust according to your mood. Roll them up or let them loose. That day was a very hot day so I decided to roll-up the sleeves completely, keeping it casual. Loving the detail of the floral design on the front of the dress. The plain sequined pattern gives this look a feminine touch as well. I just paired this outfit with my silver chunky booties. If you plan to style an outfit like this in colder weather, I would totally wear full-length leather boots and throw on a black leather jacket and a black or marsala fedora. But this is India, and here you can’t wear anything in the form of boots or leather because of the weather! But that’s exactly what I love about this look, you can style in any way, in any part of the world. Depending on the weather and what goes with what. Its casual, comfortable and looks divine when you wear it.
