MADASASA // STYLEMEARIA
I had the privilege of associating my brand with one of Kolkata’s freshest offbeat designers- her brand is known as MadaSasa. I had the chance to meet Swati Bijoria, the founder of MadaSasa, while she was in Hyderabad showcasing for the Fashion Yatra yearly exhibition. I styled 3 outfits from her recent collection.
Since the summers have set in, I couldn’t convince myself to wear any layers or any form of trousers. This collection provided a successful breakthrough for me out of my fall/winter clothing, finally coming out of my dark lipstick, leather singlet days, to wearing soft fabrics and bright colours.
We were privileged and lucky enough to have this gorgeous location as our location partners. A huge shoutout to Ellaa Hotels for making this happen and showing us the best time while shooting at your property. From the staff to the housekeeping, everyone was so polite and professional. They definitely made shooting there a pleasure, and we are definitely going to be back for some more amazing shoots. Thank you once again for everything, everyone at Ellaa, Hyderabad.
The first outfit is straight out of summer heaven – it is cotton and a long kaftan, it has bold yellow and white stripes and runs all the way down to my ankles, asymmetrically. One side of the upper corner is embellished with patterns of flowers.
It was a beautiful garment to feature, since you can style the silhouette in so many ways. That same long straight dress can be pinched at the waist and worn with a broad or narrow belt. Or you could play with the length of the dress, and knot one side of it, wear it with ankle-length boots or closed heeled shoes and voila, you are good to go and rock different styles in one silhouette.
I wore the yellow outfit the way it was supposed to be worn, very simple footwear, minimal fresh makeup, a top knot as my hairdo. The only thing I added was my big white embroidered earrings to add some drama to the outfit, yet leave it as minimal as it could be.
This marsala long gown stole my heart! It is the perfect way to dress a summer evening up. The flare, drama, and elegance of this outfit made me feel just incredible. Since it is an after-dusk ensemble, I am wearing my glitter jelly heels that i bought at the Numaish exhibition for Rs.100. Then added these gorgeous black studded eartops, making a statement out of the whole look, with my hair back and some dark lipstick and minimal face and eye makeup. Since none of these garments needed anything to be added, they were so stunning with minimal styling.
That’s usually how I like my looks to be, minimal without trying too hard.
The last outfit was of course this sheer white top, again asymmetric, styled together with shorts, instead of pants or leggings, since it is almost summer here. I wanted to show you all that this white embroidered-at-the-neck top can rock even when paired with these printed shorts and some block heel sandals. This look has got to be a transit look that you could wear to brunch and later on into the night, just add a pop of colour on your lips and some chunky heels, and you are so set! Garments that are easy to style & switch up for day and night looks save us so much time, amiright?
These are some of the looks I created with MadaSasa. I hope you like the post as much as we liked styling the shoot and curating these looks for all of you.
Worry not! There are a lot more fun activities and associations with #MadaSasa ! So stay tuned and keep following our adventures as they unfold.
That’s all for now. x
